We have a kidney shaped pool perfect for the little ones - we keep a stash of vests for our non-swimmers. Our productive garden is busy all season long with lush and fertile vegetable beds. We’ll host a Harvest Party at the end of our camp season; sending our families home with a bag of produce!
Almost all of the Campers perform in our rocking end of season Musical Drama performance which draws its theme from our Nature and Science Station. Our CIT's and older campers are active partners in the creative process - the music and lyrics are original. We pack the house and everyone participates.
Our sewing program will have your child sewing clothes, accessories and maybe even reupholstering your favorite armchair! Kids are freed by the speed and versatility of a good sewing machine and their abilities are astonishing.
We are piloting a fermenting program. Yogurt, bread, pickles, sauerkraut, kefir, are just some of the things we will be making. We will also explore the fermented foods of various cultures around the world. Korean Kim Chee, German sauerkraut and pickles, Indian Chutneys, etc.
We have a shady sports field adjacent to acres of woodland and we have plenty of sports minded kids that set up their own little soccer clinic.
Our woodworking shop is thorough and basic. Last summer we used a hand drill - quietly powerful. Many of our woodworking projects made use of staffer Ellen's Fabulous driftwood collection.
Our Camp staff are adult teachers, artists and experts in their fields. All have many years of experience working with children and they return year after year. The children are at ease being their silly selves in our small groups and parents tell us they love the relaxed and easy vibe.
