Got Brown Bananas? Here's the Easiest Way to Freeze Them!

Don't let those bananas go to waste...

Do your kids eat ten bananas one week and zero bananas the next? You may have already heard the advice to freeze overripe bananas for future use, but what's the easiest way to do it?

Step 1: DO NOT PEEL THOSE BANANAS! No one wants to peel mushy bananas and it's totally unnecessary. Leave the peel on. You'll thank me later.

Step 2: Cut each banana in half.

Step 3: Put all those overripe banana halves in a freezer bag and stash in the freezer.

When you're ready to use a banana, all you have to do is hold it under hot water for about ten seconds. Squeeze the closed end of the banana and it will pop right out. My favorite use for frozen bananas are smoothies, oatmeal, and of course, banana bread! For recipes that require mashed bananas, microwave the unpeeled frozen banana for about a minute and mash with a fork.

Now that you know...go bananas!
